NSMB.com’s Seb Kemp got a sneak peak at SRAM’s new Type Two Rear Derailleurs. For those that haven’t heard, the Type Two has been designed with some sort of new technology they are calling “Cage Lock” to compete with Shimano’s Shadow Plus stuff.
It looks like the new derailleurs are being offered in both X0 and X9 levels, effectivley beating Shimano to the punch, as although Shadow Plus is currently being offered on XTR and will be seen on SLX in 2013, there doesn’t seem to be one ready yet for the XT set.
This is where SRAM will probably come out on top by offering Cage Lock in the X9 level right away, stealing precious market share from Shimano.
