Gwin Wins Again. Women’s Race goes to Emmeline Ragot.
Fort William, Scotland was the venue for the second consecutive week of exciting racing from the UCI World Cup of Mountain Biking. Here are the results from todays event, the Womens’s and Men’s Elite Downhill.
Aaron Gwin sat on the hot seat for what must have felt like forever to him in the cold Scottish weather. Having crashed during his qualifying run yesterday, he started early and had to watch 28 riders on the course after him. His time held up, though it was threatened by hometown hero, Danny Hart, who placed within a second of him.
The Women’s race witnessed Emmeline Ragot, reigning champ, beat out Rachel Atherton on her home soil. Atherton has never finished first at Fort William, and once again had to settle for a solid second place.
