A list of mountain bike clubs located in the Province of Alberta. If you live or ride in the area, and have a desire to give a little back to the trails, please consider contacting your local bike club, and letting them know that you can offer something to your riding community.
Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance, Canmore. “The Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance (BVMBA) is an association of mountain bikers who live mainly in Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise. Alliance members work with land managers on general issues relating to mountain bike use, particularly in Banff National Park (BNP) and the Canmore area. Many of these issues are related to environmental and wildlife concerns, as people and animals struggle to share the same physical space here in the Bow Valley. Other issues relate mainly to trail user conflicts and the growth of informal trails.”
Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance, Calgary. “The Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and improving multi-use non-paved trails in and around Calgary. We are committed to keeping trails open and in good condition through a program of education, stewardship and sustainable trail building. Further, we educate trail users, park delegates, and government bodies about mountain biking and help shape local and provincial policies on trail development and access.”
Central Alberta Bicycle Club, Red Deer. Organizes weekly road and mountain biking rides, helps maintain Red Deer MTB Park trails.
United Riders of Crowsnest Pass, Crowsnest Pass. “Our club objectives are to encourage participation and promote responsible mountain biking practices, develop and maintain a sustainable mountain biking trail system through volunteer participation, support youth education and safety in biking, and represent the local biking community in the planning and management of recreational land.”
Edmonton Mountain Bike Alliance, Edmonton. “EMBA provides leadership and advocacy in the areas of building and maintaining single-track in the North Saskatchewan River Valley as well as promoting the development of permanent bike parks.”
Hinton Mountain Bike Association, Hinton. Involved in repairing and restoring popular trails, and creating and maintaining the regions first Mountain Bike Park.
Moose Mountain Bike Trails Society, Calgary. The Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society (MMBTS)! MMBTS is a not-for-profit society comprised of mountain bikers, dedicated to the accessibility of trails and support of mountain biking in the Moose Mountain and surrounding area.
